South Euclid Nondiscrimination Ordinance - Monday, December 11 - 6:45 pm - Your Presence Matters! - The City of South Euclid is considering legislation to protect the LGBTQ community from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. The ordinance will be discussed on Monday evening’s City Council meeting. Pastor Jenkins is asking all members of SEUCC to show up and wear blue to show council that people of faith support equality! City Hall is at 1349 South Green Rd., South Euclid. Arrive at 6:45, committee meeting is at 7 p.m. Even if you can’t attend, send an email of support by Monday to City Council. Blue Christmas Worship - Wednesday December 13 - 7 p.m. - Please join us for our annual Blue Christmas Worship Service. This unique worship experience is for those who are mourning and experiencing loss at Christmas time. Whether you are feeling blue, have lost a loved one to death, divorce, or illness, or are unable to recover your health, job, or identity as you knew it, the Blue Christmas Worship Service provides a coming together of people who understand that life has seasons of sadness and that grief needs room to breathe in a safe place. Meditate by candlelight. Listen to music. Hear the words of scripture. Tell your story. Share a sweet treat with a friend. Immerse Baptism Service - Sunday, December 17 - 11 a.m. - Don’t miss this exciting worship experience as we witness one of God’s Ordinances, the Ordinance of Baptism. Please come out and support our fellow members who are who are being baptized. Please be in prayer for them as they take this monumental step in their faith journey.
Christmas Eve Sunday Blended Worship - December 24 - 11 a.m. - Lessons & Carols - All are invited to worship on Christmas Eve morning for a worship experience as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. The worship experience will include special readings along with Christmas music lead by Dr. David Thomas and the Vine Choir.
Church Office will be Closed for the Holidays - From Friday, December 22 at 12 noon through Tuesday, January 2 at 12 noon, the church office will be closed. In the event of a pastoral emergency, such as death, hospitalization or incarceration only, please call (216) 791-5201. Pastoral emergency voicemail messages will be returned within 24 hours. The church office will reopen on Tuesday, January 2 at 12 noon.
New Year’s Eve Service - December 31 - 8 p.m. - Everyone is invited to our special New Year’s Eve Worship Experience. You don't want to miss this final time of 2017 to worship God as a church family.
The L.I.D. (Living Into Destiny) - Sunday, January 7 & January 21 - 11 a.m. - The LID is a Youth Worship Experience designed just for youth ages 6 -18. The service will be presented with Creative Arts, Skits, Music, Videos, Crafts and more as the young people learn more about God, Jesus Christ and Self at a level of their understanding. We will meet in the Chapel at 11 a.m. The Young People will then break into Small Group Classes per age where they will learn that the Word of God can be applied to their lives. The December Beacon Newsletter - Available Today - We are asking that those without computer access, to please pick up a copy of The Beacon at Church Happenings. Members who are able are asked to read or download The Beacon off the website (www.southeucliducc.org, then click the word, News).
Young Adult Ministry Monthly Gatherings - 3rd Monday of Each Month Beginning in January - The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is incorporating Monthly Gatherings into the 2018 schedule using the SEUCC 4-G Mission concept of Gather ~ Grow ~ Give ~ Go. The gatherings will include fellowship, brain storming, team building and components of Bible study and devotions. All Young Adults ages 19-40 are invited to attend and can sign up in the Information Center. Please Note that the church will be closed for MLK Holiday on January 15. Therefore, the Young Adult Gathering will be moved to the 5th Monday, January 29. For further information, please contact Valerie Wimms - email@example.com.
Volunteers Needed: Wiggling Worshippers, Youth & Young Adult Ministries - If you have a gift, passion, and love for Infants through Pre-Kindergarteners, Youth ages 6 to 18 and/or Young Adults, please consider volunteering. These ministries are vitally important to our overall Christian Education Ministry because it provides nurture, care and spiritual reinforcement from our infants to our young adults. If you are interested in serving in any one of these ministries, please sign up today at the Information Center. P.A.C. (Parent Advisory Connection) Monthly Gatherings - 4TH Monday of Each Month Beginning in January - The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is incorporating Monthly Gatherings into the 2018 schedule using the SEUCC 4-G Mission concept of Gather ~ Grow ~ Give ~ Go. Blended Worship Services - 11 a.m. - Every Sunday Through January 28 - Beginning today through January 28, please join us as we will have one Blended Worship Experience at 11 a.m. each Sunday. We will return to our regular 9:55 a.m. (Vine) and 12 noon (Well) worship experiences on February 4.
Intercessory Prayer -All persons who are interested in offering prayers of intercession, on behalf of the church, your family or whatever is on your heart, are to come to the sanctuary to pray, 1 hour before all worship services. If you have any questions, please see Rev. Carla Jo Howlett.
