Climbing Upward Scholarship - The Climbing Upward Scholarship Program would like to learn about college and career-related programming that would be of interest to you and other members of SEUCC. Perhaps you need advice on launching a new job search, exploring financial aid resources for college or help building your resume? Pease take a moment to complete an online survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JWK69RS) so that we can learn more about your needs and interests. Saturday in the Sanctuary - January 27 - 9 a.m. - Please join your church family in a time of corporate prayer and praise. If you have a special prayer of thanksgiving, petition or intercession come to Saturdays in the Sanctuary. Saturdays in the Sanctuary is an opportunity for our faith community to spend quality time in prayer focusing on 1) Discerning the Voice of God 2) A Longing to Know God Better and 3) Turning Away From All Crutches. Inside the Pride: Leadership Development - Saturday, January 27 - 10 a.m. - Pastor Courtney Clayton Jenkins will be leading the first 2018 Inside the Pride session on Saturday, January 27 at 10 a.m. All SEUCC Leaders are encouraged to attend, but everyone is welcome. The topic will be “Leaders Do Dirty Work: Roll up Your Sleeves.” If you plan to attend and need the services of Wiggling Worshipers, please sign up at the Information Center today. Faith in Cleveland - Sunday, January 28 - 11 a.m. - Please join us Sunday, January 28 for our last Blended Worship service with guest speaker, Dr. Otis Moss Jr.
Deacons’ Ordination Service - Sunday, January 28 - 4 p.m. - On Sunday, January 28 at 4 p.m. 8 persons who have been in training to become a deacon will be ordained. This is a defining moment in the spiritual journey of these 8 individuals and it is an important time for our congregation. Members of SEUCC, please plan to attend this special worship service where Pastor Jenkins will lay hands on these individuals, as they are being ordained to the Lord’s Service as Deacons of SEUCC. A reception will immediately follow.
Fifth Monday Meal - Monday, January 29 - 2:30 p.m. - The Fifth Monday Meal is from 2:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at New Life at Calvary Presbyterian Church, at 2020 East 79th St. in Cleveland. We are seeking people to assist with setting up, serving, cooking and cleaning up. Please sign up at the Information Center today for a time slot and an area of interest. Small Groups - Our six-week session of small groups has begun. Small Groups are being offered on both Wednesdays and Fridays. Consider beginning the new year by making a renewed commitment to your Christian discipleship through study and living a life beyond the boat. Small groups being offered this session are: (1) The Battle Plan For Prayer: From Basic Training To Targeted Strategies (2) The Discipline Of Lament (3) 5 Lies That Ruin Relationships and at noon (4) Crossing the Waters. Go Ministry (Justice) - Interested Members - Do you have a passion for social justice and knowledge or experience that could help in a Justice Ministry? SEUCC through our Go Ministry is poised to move toward deeper engagement and more powerful action on social justice in our local community and beyond. The Summit: Youth Ministry Small Group Continues January 24! - Wednesdays, 6 - 7 PM - We are EXCITED to provide a place called “The Summit” where youth ages 6 to 18 can gather for faith development to have their lives challenged so they can be equipped. They will discuss real life issues that they encounter daily; learn how to interpret them and respond from a Christian and faith perspective. Snacks will be provided. Upcoming dates for the Summit are: Every Wednesday through February 28. Young Adult Ministry Monthly Gatherings - 3rd Monday of Each Month Beginning in January - The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is incorporating Monthly Gatherings into the 2018 schedule using the SEUCC 4-G Mission concept of Gather ~ Grow ~ Give ~ Go. The gatherings will include fellowship, brain storming, team building and components of Bible study and devotions. All Young Adults ages 19-40 are invited to attend and can sign up in the Information Center. Please Note that the church was closed for MLK Holiday. Grief Support Group - Saturdays in February - A Grief Support Group will begin February 3 through February 24, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. If you are still struggling with unresolved grief from the loss of a loved one, you are welcomed to begin and continue the journey of grief recovery. Please note that the group is limited to 15 participants and everyone must attend the first session on February 3. If you are interested, please sign up at the Information Center. Volunteers Needed: Wiggling Worshippers, Youth & Young Adult Ministries - If you have a gift, passion, and love for Infants through Pre-Kindergarteners, Youth ages 6 to 18 and/or Young Adults, please consider volunteering. These ministries are vitally important to our overall Christian Education Ministry because it provides nurture, care and spiritual reinforcement from our infants to our young adults. If you are interested in serving in any one of these ministries, please sign up today at the Information Center. Blended Worship Services - 11 a.m. - There is just one Sunday remaining! - Please join us as we continue to have one Blended Worship Experience at 11 a.m. on Sunday. We will return to our regular 9:55 a.m. (Vine) and 12 noon (Well) worship experiences on Sunday, February 4.
