Cultural Dinner - Friday, February 9 - 6:30 p.m. - Calling out to all the corners of the globe! Join us on Friday, February 10, at 6:30 p.m. for our Annual Cultural Dinner. Let’s celebrate our wonderful diversity! Bring a dish that represents your culture, Latin, African, Norwegian, Caribbean, French or American; orsimply one that you enjoy. The BIN - Thursday, February 8 & Saturday, February 10 - We are in need of persons to help unload the food truck for the BIN Ministry on Thursday, February 8between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Should you be available, please sign up at the Information Center. If you know of any families in need, please encourage them to come to The BIN on Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 50 families will be served. Requesting Giving Statements: DEADLINE February 28 - This year, Giving Statements for tax documents will be distributed only upon request. If you would like a copy of your statement, please type in the following URL: bit.ly/2DG1XxA in your browser, which takes you to the form. Please complete the form online. Upon receipt of your request, Giving Statements will be sent by US Postal Service or by email. If you are unable to access the Giving Statement Request Form online, a limited number of paper copies are available at the Information Center. Deacons’ Ordination Service - Today - 4 p.m. - Today at 4 p.m. 8 persons who have been in training to become deacons will be ordained. This is a defining moment in the spiritual journey of these 8 individuals and it is an important time for our congregation. Members of SEUCC, please plan to attend this special worship experience where Pastor Jenkins will lay hands on these individuals, as they are being ordained into the Lord’s Service as Deacons of SEUCC.
Climbing Upward Scholarship - The Climbing Upward Scholarship Program would like to learn about college and career-related programming that would be of interest to you and other members of SEUCC. Perhaps you need advice on launching a new job search, exploring financial aid resources for college or help building your resume? Pease take a moment to complete an online survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JWK69RS) so that we can learn more about your needs and interests. Also, a paper-version is available at the Information Center. Please be sure to complete the survey one (1) time only. The survey will be available through today. Fifth Monday Meal - Tomorrow, January 29 - 2:30 p.m. - The Fifth Monday Meal is from 2:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at New Life at Calvary Presbyterian Church, at 2020 East 79th St. in Cleveland. We are seeking people to assist with setting up, serving, cooking and cleaning up. Please sign up at the Information Center today for a time slot and an area of interest. Small Groups 6 p.m. and 12 Noon - Our six-week session of small groups has begun. Small Groups are being offered on both Wednesdays and Fridays. Consider beginning the new year by making a renewed commitment to your Christian discipleship through study and living a life beyond the boat. Small groups being offered this session are: (1) The Battle Plan For Prayer: From Basic Training To Targeted Strategies (2) The Discipline Of Lament (3) 5 Lies That Ruin Relationships and at noon (4) Crossing the Waters. The Summit: Youth Ministry Small Group Continues - Wednesdays - 6 p.m. - We are EXCITED to provide a place called “The Summit” where youth ages 6 to 18 can gather for faith development to have their lives challenged so they can be equipped. They will discuss real life issues that they encounter daily; learn how to interpret them and respond from a Christian and faith perspective. Snacks will be provided. Upcoming dates for the Summit are: Every Wednesday through February 28. Young Adult Ministry Monthly Gatherings - 3rd Monday of Each Month Beginning in January - The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is incorporating Monthly Gatherings into the 2018 schedule using the SEUCC 4-G Mission concept of Gather ~ Grow ~ Give ~ Go. The gatherings will include fellowship, brain storming, team building and components of Bible study and devotions. All Young Adults ages 19-40 are invited to attend and can sign up in the Information Center. Please Note that the church was closed for MLK Holiday. Volunteers Needed: Wiggling Worshippers, Youth & Young Adult Ministries - If you have a gift, passion, and love for Infants through Pre-Kindergarteners, Youth ages 6 to 18 and/or Young Adults, please consider volunteering. These ministries are vitally important to our overall Christian Education Ministry because it provides nurture, care and spiritual reinforcement from our infants to our young adults. If you are interested in serving in any one of these ministries, please sign up today at the Information Center.
