South Euclid United Church of Christ is all about having a positive impact beyond the walls of the church. Our ministries focus on improving and empowering our community. It takes each of us to do this.

Ask God to reveal to you how your spiritual gifts should be used for the betterment of the Kingdom/Kin-dom and become involved in our ministries, various activities or volunteer opportunities.  

Media Ministry

The media ministry is an integral part of all SEUCCʼs services and special events. The media ministry is a behind-the scenes ministry often overlooked. It is vital to the success of all services and events. The role of the media ministry is to ensure all audio/visual equipment is operating properly. This ministry makes sure music is played timely and with appropriate volume, video and PowerPoint presentations are displayed correctly, and all setups are error free.

Beacon Newsletter

The Beacon Newsletter is the “hub” of information for SEUCC and is distributed the first Sunday of every month. It provides joys/celebrations for church members; as well as, information about upcoming ministry events and reflections on past ministry events. The Beacon staff welcomes writers and person who will submit article ideas.
Commitment: Available to write and submit articles on a monthly or as needed basis.

Greeter Ministry

Greeters welcome visitors and members attending service and ensure their needs and concerns are addressed. Serving as a greeter involves more than just standing at the door and shaking hands as people enter the church. We want to make those who come through the doors of the church feel at home.

Commitment: Serve a minimum of once a month on a weekly rotating basis.

Liturgists

Lay persons serve as liturgists during our Traditional and Blended worship services. They lead by delivering various aspects of the liturgy, most commonly the Call to Worship and the Offertory Invitation. The liturgist schedule is developed six months at a time – January thru June and July thru December.

Commitment: A maximum of once a month.
Gifts: All (Requires worshipful attitude and be a comfortable public speaker.)

SERVOLUTION

SERVOLUTION is a church wide outreach initiative that challenges and mobilizes all church members to participate in various service projects so the church serves a minimum of 300 hours throughout the greater Cleveland area.  In 2015 the primary areas of service will be in the areas of hunger, education, and justice.
Commitment: Servolution lasts 1 month.   Project leaders plan a project; as well as, recruit and manage their team.

Saturdays in the Sanctuary Prayer Ministry

Saturdays in the Sanctuary is a time of prayer and worship on Saturday mornings. Prayers are prayed for the spiritual growth of the congregation, and seek God’s guidance for our pastor, church leaders, and staff.  Prayers are prayed for our government officials as well as issues affecting our community and world, Prayers are prayed in an atmosphere of confidentiality. 
Commitment: Prayer Ministry meets each Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Members commit to be present on a rotating schedule.

Information Center Assistants

Information Center Assistants serve at the Information Center on Sundays to ensure there is someone available to answer questions about ministry events; as well as, collect registration forms for ministry events.
Commitment: Once a month on a rotating basis, after 9:55 and 12 noon worship services.

Guest Services Desk Assistants

Guest Services Desk Assistants serve at the Guest Services Desk to ensure there is someone available to attend to the needs of our visitors.  On Sundays these assistants facilitate the exchange of visitor cards and visitor bags.

Commitment: Once a month on a rotating basis, before and after 9:55 The Vine and 12 noon The Well worship services and whenever there is funeral or evening worship experience.

Transportation Ministry

The Transportation Ministry provides rides for people who need transportation to SEUCC on Sundays and for other ministry events.  Persons in the Transportation Ministry primarily drive one of the church vans; however, there are times when one or two people may request transportation to a ministry event that does not require a van.
Commitment: Weekly rotating scheduled basis.
Gifts: All (Must have an excellent driving record.)

Usher Ministry

The Usher Ministry is a ministry of service and can best be defined as “door keepers in the house of God,” (Psalm 4:10) called to extend hospitality, friendliness, and warmth to all who come to worship.  The Usher Ministry exists to ensure that order is maintained in the worship service so that each worshipper may experience God in a meaningful way.  In 2016, this ministry is in great need of “new” ushers for both the 9:55 a.m. VINE and 12 Noon Well worship services.
Commitment: Serve on a rotating basis to ensure each worship service is adequately covered.

Welcome Center Volunteers

Volunteer Office Assistants are either a Church Member or Community Member who volunteers in the administrative office to represent a presence of hospitality by answering the telephone and greeting guest in the Welcome Center during church office hours. The shifts are 8:30 am to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
Commitment:  Preferred is one 4-hour shift once a week; however, more or less shifts can be scheduled based upon the Volunteer Office Assistant’s availability.

Wednesday in the Word Teachers

Wednesday in the Word Teachers teach adults or youth during each Wednesday in the Word Bible Study Session from 6:15p.m to 7:30p.m.

Commitment: Attend scheduled Wednesday in the Word Teacher meetings.  Facilitate 5-7 week small group sessions between one and three times a year.

Women’s Association

The Women’s Association members make lap quilts and walker bags for the residents of nursing homes.  They bring brown bag lunches, a brief meeting, and fellowship.
Commitment: Weekly Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – March – June & September - December

Worship & Arts Design Team

The Worship & Arts Design Team provides artistic support for sermon series visuals, special worship services, power point team, and church year/seasonal sanctuary décor.

Leadership Summit

The Leadership Summit is a weekend conference offered with the intent to empower persons to passionately meet the call of God on their lives to be leaders in the church and world. Although the workshops are designed to educate and train those who lead in churches, they are also beneficial to those that lead in other sectors.
Commitment: Assist with preparation and hosting this weekend event.

Mama's Wonderfully Made

Mama’s Wonderfully Made Ministry exists to provide support, resources, and socialization for new and expecting mothers within the church and neighboring community. This ministry seeks to create a welcoming environment to attract new members and foster a deeper community of support for current members. By informing mothers of natural and holistic options for child birth and infant care, this ministry celebrates the diversity of families, while providing an opportunity for fellowship.
Commitment: Attend bi-weekly meetings, and participate in an online community.

SafeSpace Ministry

This Safe Space Ministry exists to create outreach and ministry opportunities within the SEUCC community directly aligning with the church’s Open and Affirming status and the resulting large LGBTQ and non-gender conforming populations within church membership.
Commitment: Attend quarterly events and meetings as necessary.
